Director, Centre for studies in Museology and Sheikh Noor –ud- din Noorani Museum of Heritage, university of Jammu , Prof. Poonam Chaudhary in collaboration with P.G. Department of History organized an interactive session on "Architectural Styles of Temples of The Western Himalayas" Dr. Ashok Jerath, an eminent scholar delivered the lecture and highlighted different styles of temples found in the region.
The lecture generated a lot of discussion and created a very lively atmosphere. Prof. Chaudhary said the purpose of organizing this kind of interactive session with scholars of Jammu University is to make them aware about the culture heritage of Jammu region. She also proposed that documentation of tangible and intangible heritage of Jammu on different aspects of culture of Jammu region so as to benefit help the students in their research. A monograph on walled city of Jammu and a book on Mubarak Mandi Palace: inheritance of an ailing heritage have been published as a part of Jammu heritage series.
