Srinagar, September 19: The minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Taj Mohi-ud-Din on Tuesday suspended 42 officials including Assistant Director (Supplies) on charges of black-marketing in the allotment of 10 lakh liters kerosene oil to retailers during the month of September. Following the widespread complaints of black-marketing in the allotment of kerosene oil against the officials of supplies section, the ministers during a surprises visit of the Directorate of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, ordered the suspension of the officials of supplies section and their immediate replacement. A meeting of senior officers was, according to minister, convened during which the issue of submitting ration coupons by retailers against which they get the kerosene oil quota was discussed, but it was found during the course of the meeting that there are large scale bunglings in the allotment of Kerosene oil made under ratio coupon scheme.
