| Bureaucratic reshuffle not expected soon | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 24- For the time being the Government is unlikely to reshuffle the two top posts that of Chief Secretary, S.S.Kapoor and the Director General Police, Kuldeep Khoda. Informed sources said that Delhi has conveyed to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah that Kapoor and Khoda be retained in the interest of the state administration. Sources said that both Kapoor and Khoda received appreciation from the centre for making the recent Assembly election incident free. The two officers have also established their credibility as being the least controversial figures in the state administration. Delhi, sources said, does not want immediate change in the top police setup because the police under the command of Khoda had played a positive role in improving the security situation. If the current setup was changed it may affect the overall functioning of the police. Khoda had been instrumental in initiating several welfare measures in the police and his thrust in removing stagnation in the lower ranks of the police by being liberal in sanctioning promotions has earned him bouquets. The Chief Minister may not also carry any major reshuffle in the top echelons of the intelligence agency. Dr Ashok Bhan who heads the intelligence setup has received appreciation from the state Government for his performance as Vigilance Commissioner. As DG intelligence he has been able to feed the security agencies with specific information regarding the plans and modules of militants. Omar Abdullah has been suggested to retain Bhan as DG intelligence at least for a period of two more years.
