Chairman DDC Reasi reviews progress of Developmental works under annual plans

REASI, July 22: Chairperson, District Development Council, Reasi Saraf Singh Nag today chaired the council meeting in the Conference Hall of District Administrative Complex to discuss and review the progress of various developmental projects under Capex Plan 2023-24.
Vice-Chairperson, District Development Council, Sajra Qadir; District Development Commissioner, Babila Rakwal; Chairpersons of Block Development Council, Reasi, Members of District Development Council, besides, Chief Executive Officer, District Development Council, & District/ Sectoral Officers also attended the meeting.
At the outset, the CEO, DDC, Reasi (ADDC, Reasi) presented a detailed overview of the estimation and tendering process under UT Capex, ADF (DDC/BDC/PRI grants), Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP), Aspirational Panchayat Development Programme (APDP), SBM, JJM etc.
The meeting was informed that a budget of Rs 6219.09 Lacs was approved for District Capex for the year 2023-24 under which 3036 works (Ongoing+ New) have been identified for improvement of infrastructure, electrification, drinking water facilities and augmentation of infrastructure in educational institutions.
It was informed that out of 3036 total works 2014 stand estimated and 1814 have been accorded administrative approval and 1548 stand tendered.
The chairman took a detailed review of the physical & financial status of works taken up under the District Capex schemes of sector minor irrigation, elementary education, secondary education PWD(R&B), PHE, Health, Urban Development, RDD & Youth Services & Sports.
During the meeting council members projected various demands which included immediate desilting, repair and restoration of irrigation khuls, expediting the work of clearance and restoration of roads damaged due to the incessant rains, early release of land compensation payments, covering of left out beneficiaries of PMAY-G.
The Council Members also requested for holding special meetings of the council with officers of various departments viz. Agriculture & Allied Activities Department, Social Welfare, Forest, Jal Shakti, JKPDCL, Health & Tribal Department to discuss issues of public interest.
After reviewing the sector wise progress of the works, the chairman impressed upon all the departments / executing agencies to complete the estimation, tendering and allotment of works within the timelines issued by the Finance Department so that all the developmental works could be completed within the time bound manner.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Reasi directed the officers to put in their best efforts for timely completion of works for optimum utilization of funds under different schemes. She also directed the concerned officers for prompt redressal of the various issues highlighted by the Council Members/ Chairpersons.
