DDC discusses arrangements for annual Kounsar Nag Yatra

REASI, July 24: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal today discussed the arrangements for annual Kounsar Nag Yatra here at a meeting of Officers and yatra Management Committee members.
At the outset, the president Kounsar Nag Yatra Samiti briefed the District Development Commissioner about the details of the Yatra regarding number of yatris, halting points and en-route.
Threadbare discussions were held on the arrangements, including Medicare, transportation, boarding and lodging, security, fixation of pony and pithoos walas rates, installation of solar lights, setting up of langar, power and water arrangements for the convenience of the devotees en-route to the shrine.
The meeting was informed that SDM Mahore will be the nodal officer to coordinate with the stakeholder departments and Kousar Nag yatra committee for the smooth conduct of the yarta.
For Medicare facilities, teams of doctors and paramedics would be stationed at specified locations with adequate stock of medicines.
Addressing the meeting, the DDC said that efforts would be made to promote the Kounsar Nag as a major tourist destination. "State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Aapda Mitras will be deployed at identified critical spots on the route" the DDC said.
The DDC directed Xen PWD and Xen PMGSY Mahore to ensure repair of the approach roads well in advance to ensure their traffic worthiness. The DC asked ARTO Reasi to ensure provision of buses during the yatra.
It was directed that the Assistant Director Tourism Katra/Reasi shall make a documentary of KounsarNag Holy place/ lake with yatra to promote it as a tourist destination through different media platforms.
SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta, ADC Abdual Star, ACR Reasi, ACD Reasi, SDM Mahore Tehsildar Reasi, District Social Officer, CMO Reasi, ARTO Reasi, CMO, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
