| CBI Court framed charges against ASI in trap case | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 26: Special Judge CBI Cases Jammu Bala Joyti framed charges against Bhuri Singh ASI who was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000/-.
ASI was arrested by CBI team on the complaint of a transporter namely Devinder Singh, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. ASI demanded a bribe for releasing the seized truck of the complaint despite court order.
Special Judge CBI Cases Jammu Bala Joyti after hearing both the sides observed that on 26.11.2021 while Bhuri Singh was posted as ASI of J&K Police, Police Station Kathua you made an illegal demand of bribe/undue advantage of Rs. 5000/- from the complainant Davinder Singh as a motive and reward for not filing charge- sheet and for taking action against complainant and when trap was laid upon you in the Police Station Kathua and you were caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs. 5000/-from the complainant. In this way you have thereby committed an offence under section 7 of the P.C Act 1988 and within my cognizance.
