| Gupta welcomes FM’s statement on 6th pay panel recommendations | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 24- Welcoming the commitment of State Finance Minister A R Rather of implementing the recommendations of the 6th pay commission, the BJP Legislators Party leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, felt that much would depend upon the outcome of the proposed meeting of the State officers team with the Planning Commission as there is little in the kitty of the State. Commenting upon the inheritance of financial mess in the State, Prof. Gupta said the Finance Minister has confirmed the charges of the BJP that much of the funds secured from the Centre, have been misused and the matter should be probed by some independent agency to fix the responsibility and measure to check the wrought. The BJP leader in a statement issued here today said lakhs of crores have been provided by the Centre to Jammu and Kashmir for welfare of the people during the past over 60 years but it was unfortunate that the slogans of development and Khushali have proved hollow to the extent that the State was not in a position even to pay the salaries and wages of its employees and the dependence is ever increasing at the Centre. He recalled that during last year the Finance Minister had revealed in his Budget speech that Rs.87,000 crores have been spent governments since 2002 onwards but the statement of new Finance Minister about inheritance of financial mess is quite meaningful which needed deep probing. Prof. Gupta observed that many problems confronting this State were the outcome of misuse of Central funds and unrealistic approach opted by the Congress led UPA at the Centre and stressed for remedial measures
