EPFO and PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry organize interactive session on EPF services

JAMMU, July 27: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) joined hands with the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) Jammu and Dogra Law College to organize an interactive session and awareness program on EPFO services and the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) & Miscellaneous Provisions (MP) Act. Rizwan Uddin, PF Commissioner of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, graced the event as the Chief Guest, and Rahul Sahai, Chair of PHDCCI Jammu, was the Guest of Honor.
Addressing the participants, Rizwan expressed his gratitude to PHDCCI Jammu Chapter and Dogra Law College for coming together and organizing the awareness session. He provided valuable insights into the schemes offered by EPFO and emphasized the importance of EPF for all employees. He highlighted that EPF serves as a crucial source of social security for employees, providing financial stability and support during challenging times.
During the interactive session, Rizwan patiently answered various queries raised by the participants and addressed their concerns. He promptly directed his office to resolve certain issues on the spot, demonstrating his commitment to assisting employees with their grievances. He stressed the need to create more awareness about EPF among the masses, ensuring their financial security in case of unforeseen events. He assured the participants that his office is always open to address any grievances and provide support when needed.
Rahul Sahai, Chair of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, lauded the joint effort of EPFO, PHDCCI, and Dogra Educational Trust in promoting Indian industry, trade, and entrepreneurship. He emphasized the significance of the EPF and MP Act as essential labor legislation in India, designed to offer social security and financial stability to employees. Sahai emphasized that EPF goes beyond being a mere tax-saving instrument and plays a vital role in securing the future of salaried individuals and supporting their families in times of need.
Explaining the benefits of EPF for employees, Sahai outlined aspects such as financial security, long-term savings, tax benefits, withdrawal options, interest earnings, and social security. For employers, he highlighted advantages like employee attraction and retention, tax savings, a motivated workforce, contributing to employee welfare, reduced payroll burden, compliance with labor laws, and a positive corporate image.
Bipin Kumar, District Nodal Officer, EPFO Jammu, delivered a detailed presentation on EPFO services and schemes during the session.
Samardev Singh Charak, Co-Chair of PHDCCI Jammu and Secretary of Dogra Educational Trust, expressed gratitude and pleasure in hosting the event. He praised Rizwan's enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and assured that similar programs would be regularly organized. He encouraged employees and employers to make the most of EPF schemes. Charak thanked Rizwan and Rahul Sahai for hosting the program and assured full support for future endeavors.
The interactive session was skillfully moderated by Parema Bakshi, Lecturer at Dogra Law College. Also present at the session were Dr. Darshana Sharma, Director of Dogra Group of Colleges, Dr. Avdhesh Pratap, Principal of Dogra Law College, and Amarpreet Singh, Resident Officer of PHDCCI Jammu. The session saw active participation from representatives of various industrial units, law students, and faculty members of Dogra Law College.
The event proved to be an enlightening platform for participants to gain a deeper understanding of EPF services and the importance of social security for employees and their families.
