DC Poonch reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes

POONCH, July 27: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M Choudhary, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
The meeting was attended by SE Hydraulic Rajinder Kumar Sharma; XEN PHE, Riaz Ahmed, besides all AEEs, AEs, JEs, other concerned officers and contractors who briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the status of JJM in their respective areas.
During the meeting, SE Hydraulic, Er Rajinder K Sharma gave a presentation through PPT on the current status of JJM in the district. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned Junior Engineers (JEs) and Assistant Engineers (AEs) to ensure that all machinery and motors are in working condition so that the public does not face any difficulties. The District Development Commissioner took a serious view of slow progress of JJM works and delay was reported due to lapse on the part of the Contractors/agencies allotted the works. He directed the Executive Engineer PHE Division Poonch to act tough against the slow moving contractors and terminate the contracts of all such works where the progress is slow and completion of the schemes are over delayed.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the forest, revenue, and police departments to cooperate with the Jal Shakti Department in resolving the local issues coming in way of smooth execution of JJM works
The Deputy Commissioner directed all officers to work with dedication and honesty without any fail, otherwise, strict action will be taken against defaulters. He also stressed the need to achieve the 100% target of JJM in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed all field engineers to visit their sites regularly and ensure the works are executed strictly as per specifications ensuring timely completion of JJM in the district.
