Jammu, July 27, 2023: In a bid to promote environmental consciousness and nurture a greener future, the School of Social Sciences at Cluster University of Jammu celebrated “Van-Mahotsav” with great enthusiasm on July 27, 2023. The event witnessed the distribution of various plant varieties among students, followed by a tree-planting activity within the premises of SOSS, as a symbolic gesture of nurturing nature.
Recognizing the pivotal role of trees, water, and soil conservation in sustaining a healthy ecosystem, the students were actively engaged in the initiative.
A total of 50 plants were thoughtfully distributed among the students, inspiring them to become proactive stewards of nature and advocate for the environment’s preservation.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Vishal Sharma, the esteemed Dean of the School of Social Sciences, who addressed the students on the significance of tree plantation and the vital role each individual plays in safeguarding the environment. His inspiring words urged the students to take up the responsibility of planting more trees to combat climate change and foster ecological balance.
The Van-Mahotsav celebration witnessed active participation from both students and faculty members of the School of Social Sciences, collectively displaying their commitment to environmental sustainability.
