| Crime Branch seizes charas, cash | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, January 24 –For the past some time the Crime Branch had launched a sustained drive and destroyed over 300 kanals of cultivated Bhang at Takiyabal Bijbehara, Tul Khan Bijbehara and Takinwari Ganderbal. Even the dens of wild growing Bhang has earlier been destroyed by the organization at number of places.
In this connection, following the lead of a source information pallets of Charas weighing 470 grams and a cash of Rs. 30,000 was seized by Crime Branch, Kashmir the other day. While raiding the house of Nissar Ahmad Sheikh S/O Habibullah Sheikh R/O Kani Devar Hawal and the culprit was arrested on spot. The accused was selling the pallets to young adolescent school going children in various localities against hefty prices and had seduced hundreds to the narcotic addiction.
On sustained interrogation it surfaced that his source of supply was one Gh. Mohammad Dar S/O Gh. Ahmad Dar R/O Vanduna Nain from South Kashmir. The Crime Branch Kashmir acting on this information immediately raided that house today early in the morning and seized Charas comprising of 72 scale pieces weighing 9 Kgs in presence of a magistrate.
FIR No. 01/2009 U/S 20 NDPS Act has been lodged in this respect by the Crime Branch.
