| No bills pending in treasuries | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, JAN 24: Acting swiftly on the instructions of the Minister for Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather, the Finance Department today cleared all pending GPF/SLI bills amounting to Rs.23.86 crore at various Treasuries of the State. This was stated by the Finance Minister here today. He said that following clearance of the bills, there is no pendency left on this account with any Treasury now. Addressing a press conference here yesterday afternoon, Mr. Rather had issued instructions for clearance of all pending GP Fund bills within two days. Giving details, Mr. Rather said that GP Fund bills cleared include Rs. 7.69 crore in Jammu, Rs. 15.25 crore in Kashmir, Rs. 67 lakh in Leh and Rs. 25 lakh in Kargil district. These bills were pending for disbursal at various Treasuries for some time, causing inconvenience to the employees. Urging the people to bring to his notice any grievance in this regard, the Minister said that the Government is committed to address the hardships of employees.
