| SKIMS gets new governing body | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, JAN 24: The Government today sanctioned reconstitution of the Governing Body of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).
According to an order issued today, the reconstituted Governing Body will be headed by the Chief Minister. The Members of the Governing Body will be Minister for Finance, Chief Secretary, Prof. G. Q. Allaqaband, Director General, Health Services, Government of India, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research, Director, AIIMS, Prof. Mehraj-ud-Din and Principals of GMC, Jammu and Srinagar. Director, SKIMS will be the Member Secretary of the Governing Body.
The Administrative Secretaries of the Planning & Development Department, Finance Department and Health and Medical Education Department will be the Advisors of the Governing Body while as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Dean, Medical Faculty, SKIMS will be the Special Invitees.
Deputy Secretary to Government, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Cancer Research Desk) shall be the Co-opted Member of the Governing Body for the purpose of participation in such Governing Body meetings where matters relating to development of Regional Cancer Centre at SKIMS are considered.
