| Hakeem exudes confidence early settlement of Kashmir issue | | | Srinagar, September 19 – Chairman People’s Democratic Front and Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has expressed confidence that the conducive atmosphere created after the meeting of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Pakistan President Gen Parveez Musharaf for dialogue between India and Pakistan on various issues including the vexed Kashmir issue would continue and taken to its logical end. He hoped that improving relations between the two neighboring countries would certainly restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir as well as sub-continent. Addressing a public rally today at Gurwett in Khan Sahib area, the Minister underlined the need to allow students of Universities and Colleges, intellectuals, educationists and leader of political parties of the state to visit Pakistan as well as PoK adding that the step would help to improve the mutual understanding amongst the people living across the LoC. Hakeem Yaseen reiterated Government’s resolve for full-filling the commitment made under Common Minimum Programme adding that speedy and equitable development of all the regions of the state is on the top agenda of the government. He said government has already launched several projects and welfare schemes in the state and accorded priority for the development of downtrodden and neglected areas. He assured that the government would try its utmost to come upto the expectations of the people. The Minister announced that government has sanctioned Rs. 25 crore for construction of Raithen-Palmadan-Arizal road project on which work would start soon. |
