8/1/2023 10:23:09 PM
Early Times Report
REASI, Aug 1: In a significant breakthrough, Reasi Police successfully arrested an absconder who had been evading capture since 2021. The absconder, identified as Deepak Kumar, son of Thoru Ram and resident of Laiter Tehsil Pouni, District Reasi, had been on the run in connection with FIR No. 42/2021 under Sections 279/337/338 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3/181 of the Motor Vehicles Act, registered at Police Station Pouni.
Deepak Kumar's arrest was the result of relentless efforts by a team led by SHO Pouni, Inspector Purab Singh, under the supervision of DySP HQ Reasi, Neeraj Padyar- JKPS.
The accused had managed to evade arrest by constantly changing locations and adopting disguises, making it challenging for law enforcement to apprehend him since the registration of the case against him.
Following a thorough investigation, a chargesheet was filed against him in a court of law in the year 2021. As a result of the investigation's findings, the Hon'ble Court of Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Reasi issued a General Warrant of Arrest against him.
Speaking on the successful arrest, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta- JKPS stated that Reasi Police is committed to bringing hardcore and long absconding criminals to justice. The apprehension of such fugitives and their subsequent production before the respective Hon'ble courts for judicial determination of their cases reflects the unwavering dedication of Reasi Police to uphold the rule of law.
The arrest of Deepak Kumar is a testament to the professionalism and determination of Reasi Police in ensuring the safety and security of the community. The police force's vigilant efforts continue to contribute to maintaining law and order and safeguarding the interests of the citizens in the region.
