Doda Admin discusses activity plan for 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign

DODA, Aug 1: District Administration Doda today discussed the rollout of the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign in the district. A meeting in this regard was held in the DC office under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan.
At the outset, the DC highlighted the importance of 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' campaign and said that it aims to foster a sense of unity and pride across all sections of society, celebrating India's rich heritage and patriotic spirit. He expressed that celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the hallmark event on the Independence Day 2023, will be paying tribute to the 'Veers' (martyrs) through ceremonies at all levels across the district.
He instructed that under the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' program, memorial plaques would be placed at Amrit Sarovars, panchayat Ghars, parks and other public places in the memory of Martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives for the national cause.
ADDC, assisted by Assistant Commissioner Development, ACP and DPO shall be nodal officers for monitoring and implementation of the campaign in the district.
ACD Phulail Singh briefed the meeting about different themes under the "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign, and gave a detailed outline of the events to be held in the district. It was given out that programmes will be held at each Panchayat and Block between 9th August to 15th August under the theme "Meri Maati Mera Desh" and stakeholders involved have been asked to make all the necessary preparations well in advance for the successful conduct of the campaign. The Amrit Sarovars, Panchayat Bhavans, and other public places have been identified, and Panchayat wise list of Veers (Martyrs) is being prepared for the installation of memorial plaques.
The ACD was asked to identify youth volunteers for Maati-Yatra. Maati-Yatras from Panchayats will be taken to blocks where from it would be collected in earthen urns for forward journey to New Delhi by these youth volunteers from each block for construction of the National Memorial at Kartavya Path.
It was also informed that at least 75 plant saplings will be planted in each Panchayat and wards of the district. the DFO territorial (concerned), DFO Social Forestry (Concerned), CEO and BDOs were asked to ensure that the saplings are planted within well protected locations in Panchayats, Educational institutions and other places. The campaign will witness the felicitation of families of the, besides holding Painting, Essay Writing, Drawing, Photography and Videography competitions in all the educational institutes on the theme and in the memory of brave hearts and national heroes.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Pran Singh; CPO, Suresh Kumar; ACD, Phulail Singh; ACP, Ashfaq Khanji; Dy Director Employment, Idrees Lone; DIO DIPR;, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, CEO Parshotam Gouria; DFO Doda, DFO Social Forestry, BDOs, EO MC Doda and other concerned.
