GDC RS Pura NCC Cadets Spearhead Awareness Drive

JAMMU, Aug 1: In a remarkable display of environmental activism, the NCC Boys Cadets from 2 J&K Boys Bn. NCC, Jammu of Govt. Degree College, R. S. Pura, organized an impactful Awareness Drive to commemorate Swachta Abhiyan under the banner of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan - 2023. The event was conducted with the utmost enthusiasm, commitment, and the esteemed patronage of the college's Principal, Prof. Rajni Bhagat.
Under the supervision of Lt. Rakesh Choudhary, ANO, Boys NCC, the cadets embarked on a mission to raise awareness about the dire need for preserving water bodies and adopting an eco-friendly lifestyle. The campaign aimed to rejuvenate the local ponds and canals, taking an important step towards conserving our precious water resources.
The young cadets traversed the nearby surroundings, engaging in public interactions to enlighten the community about the significance of cleanliness for the preservation of water bodies. They emphasized the urgency of adopting corrective measures to safeguard these invaluable resources for future generations.
As part of the awareness drive, a captivating Nukkad Natak performance was staged at a public park in R.S. Pura, near Munsif Court. The Nukkad Natak creatively conveyed the importance of water conservation and the role each individual must play in ensuring a sustainable environment.
Speaking about the initiative, Prof. Rajni Bhagat, the Principal of Govt. Degree College, R. S. Pura, commended the dedication and commitment shown by the NCC cadets in leading this environmental campaign. She urged them to continue advocating for environmentally-friendly practices and to inspire others in their respective localities to follow suit.
The event received an overwhelming response from the local community, with many expressing their willingness to contribute to the cause and adopt environment-friendly habits to protect water bodies and promote a greener and cleaner environment.
The collective efforts of the NCC Boys Cadets under the banner of AKAM (Akhil Bhartiya Antarashtriya Mandal) and Presidency of G-20 have indeed set a positive example for the nation, emphasizing the importance of Swachta Abhiyan and responsible environmental stewardship.
With such initiatives taken by the youth, there is hope that our water bodies will be revitalized and preserved, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
