JAMMU, Aug 1: In celebration of the historic victory of Neeraj Chopra at the 2020 Olympics, the J&K Amateur Athletics Association is set to host the 2nd J&K UT Javelin Competitions at Jammu University on 7th August 2023. Coinciding with this event, the Athletics Federation of India will observe the day as National Javelin Day across the country, organizing Javelin Competitions in all States and Union Territories.
The competition will feature athletes in various age categories, including under 14, under 16, under 18, under 20, and Open, for both boys and girls. Participants are encouraged to showcase their javelin throwing prowess in this prestigious event.
Aspiring athletes who wish to participate in the competition are required to report to the Athletics track at Jammu University on 7th August 2023, starting at 0700 hours. To be eligible for participation, athletes must present their Aadhar card and a valid Date of Birth (D.O.B) certificate.
