| Forest employee held with counterfeited notes, machine | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 25: Bakshi Nagar police led by SHO Arvind Samyal held a forest employee and recovered 21 fake currency notes of rupees 100 from his possession during naka checking at Shakti Nagar area near AG office here today. 'In the wake of Republic Day, a naka was laid down near Shakti Nagar area, when a youth identified as Rajeev Kumar alias Rishu, son of Sat Pal, resident of H.NO 687 Subash Nagar ,a forest department employee posted in Forest office Narwal was apprehended ,'' Manohar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu told. When the accused saw the naka party he threw the fake currency note contained in a polythene bag in the canal which became the police suspicious but before he could manage to escape he was nabbed and simultaneously the bag was also recovered from the canal and on his disclosure during interrogation police also recovered a printing machine and allied material used for printing of notes from his residence. Though during his interrogation he did not reveal the name of other persons involved in the fake currency racket but police has suspicion the involvement of more persons,SSP maintained. His interrogation was on and more recoveries and revelation is expected. The whole operation was supervised by SSP Jammu Manohar Singh,SP City North Randeep Kumar and SDPO West Shiv Kumar Chouhan. |
