PLS-J releases 4 books of Prof Harbans Singh

JAMMU, Aug 2: Four Punjabi books titled 'Alvida' (Novel), 'Mere Supniyan Di Duniya' (Fantasies), 'Jeevan De Do Pal' (Autpbiography) and 'Meri America Pheri' (Travelogue) authored by Prof. Harbans Singh were released by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS) Jammu today in a function organized at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Hr. Secondery School Auditorium, Kunjwani, Jammu. Dr. Harjinder Singh, Faculty of Punjabi Department, University of Jammu was the chief guest whereas Sh. Jang S. Verman, a renowned artist & columnist on art & culture was the special guest on this ocasion. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages presided over the function. Prof. Harbans Singh, Chairman, SGGS Hr. Sec. School and Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, President, PLS- J shared the dais. Prof. The programme was attended by various intellectuals, writers, scholars and students of Jammu University.
Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina, President, PLS-J extended a formal welcome to the guests, writers and the intellectuals present in the auditorium. Dr. Harsimran Singh, Prabhjit Kour, Jang S. Verman and S. Harjit Singh Uppal presented their papers on the four books released in the programme. It may be mentioned here that eleven books of Punjabi and Hindi have been published by Prof. Harbans Singh. These books include autobiography, travelogue, fiction, poetry and prose.
While speaking on this occasion, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn complimented Prof. Harbans Singh for contributing four books in various generes of expression. He said that his books are based on the experiences of life from different perspectives including spiritualism. He added that his expressions have come out of his heart and so they are true in their spirit of expressions. Dr. Harjinder Singh while speaking on this occasion said that the autobiography and fiction written by Prof. Harbans Singh are reflection of hardships faced by him in his life and his struggle against all odds. Sh. Jang S. Verman also epressed his views on this occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Adm. Charanjeet Kour and Dr. Baljeet Singh Raina. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Prof. Harbans Singh.
