SSP inaugurates gym at Gurha Slathia sports stadium | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 2: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh, today inaugurated a Gym at Sports Stadium Gurha Slathia, provided by Jammu & Kashmir Police (District Samba) under the Civic Action Programme (CAP). The grand inauguration ceremony was attended by hundreds of people, including PRIs, prominent citizens, social workers, officers, academicians, youth, and students. SSP Samba, accompanied by other police officers, inaugurated the Gym as a part of the efforts to motivate the youth to stay away from drugs and encourage them to focus on physical fitness, mental health, and overall well-being. Representatives of the public, prominent citizens, social workers, academicians, and students expressed their gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Police for fulfilling their long-standing demand of opening a Gym at Gurha Slathia. They believe that the Gym will play a vital role in keeping the youth away from drugs and helping them maintain a healthy lifestyle. During the ceremony, Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary presented a welcome address, and President Ram Leela Club Gurha Slathia Kulwant Singh Slathia delivered the vote of thanks. SSP Benam Tosh, while addressing the gathering, congratulated the people of Gurha Slathia and nearby villages for receiving the indoor Gym at Sports Stadium Gurha Slathia under the Police Civic Action Programme (CAP). He expressed hope that the youth would actively engage in body-building exercises, sports activities, and studies to become responsible citizens with a commitment to serving the nation in various capacities. SSP Tosh also highlighted the J&K Police's ongoing efforts to support the community and combat the drug menace in Samba district. He mentioned that the police have previously opened gyms, libraries, provided educational materials, and conducted anti-drug awareness programs for students in different areas of Samba district. Moreover, the J&K Police is planning to organize 30 more anti-drug programs, including sports activities, in the near future to create awareness against drugs and make Samba a drug-free district, in line with the government's vision. The public and local leaders appreciated the continuous efforts of Jammu & Kashmir Police in promoting community welfare and creating a drug-free environment for the youth. They pledged their support in making the anti-drug initiatives successful and ensuring a healthier and safer society in Samba |
