Jammu, Jan 25: On the eve of Republic Day, 28 officers and men of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have got medals in different categories of the Republic Day wards of the Government of India. 14 officers and men have got the Police Medal for Gallantry, one office has got the President’s Medal for Distinguished Services and 13 have got Police Medal for Meritorious Services. None of the officers or men of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been awarded with the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry.
Nationwide, 671 personnel have been awarded police medals on the occasion of the Republic Day this year. President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service have been awarded to 71, President’s Police Medals for Gallantry to 15 and Police Medals for Gallantry to 107 personnel. Police Medals for Meritorious Service have been awarded to 478 personnel.
Inspector General of Police, Personnel Ram Lubhaya has got President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services.

Sham Lal, Follower; Attar Samad Sub Inspector; Fayaz Ahmad Constable; Rafiq Ahmad Constable; Ghulam Mustafa, Constable; H.K.Lohia, Deputy Inspector General; Ghulam Mohammad, Sergeant Constable and Mushtaq Ahmed, Constable.
