Jammu, Jan 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced State Awards on the 60th Republic Day to the 17 persons for remarkable contributions in the fields of literature, performing arts, sports, media, environment and public service.
The recipients of the award are Dr. Ved Kumari Ghai, Mr. Fida Mohammad Khan Hassnain, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Mr. Sadiq Ali Sadiq, late Mr. Pran Kishore, Mrs. Raj Begum, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad, Ms Mitali, Mr. Gul Mustafa Dev, Mr. Ram Singh Slathia, Mr. Masood Hussain, Mr. Nazir Masoodi, Mr. Sameer Koul, late Ashok Sodhi, Mr. Shashi Kumar Kesri, Mr. Ahmad Ullah Shah.
Award for Life Time Achievement comprising Rs. One lakh each, a medal each and citations was received by Dr. Ved Kumari Ghai Dogri, Sanskrit and Hindi writer and Mr. Fida Mohammad Khan Hassnain historian/ writer.
Prof. Lalit Magotra and Mr. Sadiq Ali Sadiq received award for literature in Dogri, Balti respectively. The each recipient will get cash award of Rs 51000, a shawl worth Rs 10000 and a citation.
Award for performing arts was given to Pran Kishore, Radio Artist –Posthumously and Mr. Raj Begum Kashmiri singer and Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Dogri focusing.
Ms. Mitali (Gymnastics), Mr. Gul Mustfa Dev (Skiing) Mr. Ram Singh Slathia (Mountaineering) and Mr. Ajay Sharma (Table Tennis) have received awarded as outstanding sports persons and each will get Rs. 51,000, a medal.
Mr. Masood Hussain, Journalist (Economic Times), Mr. Nazir Masoodi (ND TV), Mr. Sameer Koul (PTI) and Mr. Ashok Sodhi - Posthumously Photo Journalist Daily Excelsior have received awards as outstanding media persons. Each awardee will receive Rs 51,000, a medal and a citation.
Mr Shashi Kumar Kesri (Doda) has bagged award as outstanding environmentalist. The award comprises Rs. 51,000, a medal and a citation while as Special Secretary to Government, General Administration Department Mr. Ahmad Ullah Shah has been awarded Rs. 51,000, a medal and a citation for meritorious public service. |
