Jammu, January 25: According to a notification government today announced the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry in favour of officers and officials of Jammu and Kashmir Police, for exemplary acts of bravery and courage beyond the call of normal duty while dealing with the grave law and order situation prevailing in the state on the occasion of Republic Day, 2009. The awards sanction on the occasion of Independence Day 2008 shall also be announced.
