Commissioner Sanjeev Verma commends Shri Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society for service to pilgrims

JAMMU, Aug 5: In a show of appreciation, Commissioner of General Administration Department (GAD), Sanjeev Verma, visited the langar of Shri Amarnathji Yatra Welfare Society (SAYWS) at the TRC counter, Railway Station. The society, known for its unwavering commitment to serving pilgrims, had recently shifted its operations from Saraswati Dham to the new location.
During his visit, Commissioner Sanjeev Verma interacted with the pilgrims, assessing the facilities and services provided by SAYWS. He even took an active role in serving langar to the pilgrims. Impressed by the dedication of the langar committee, he lauded their tireless efforts in ensuring the pilgrims' comfort and well-being.
The SAYWS office bearers, as a gesture of appreciation, honored Shri Sanjeev Verma for his visit and support. President Shri Kiran Wattal provided a brief overview of the society's activities, highlighting their focus on maintaining cleanliness and providing packaged drinking water to the pilgrims. He also praised the administration, police personnel, and media for their continuous support during the Yatra.
Anil Gupta, Senior Vice President of SAYWS, emphasized that the langar has been running continuously for 38 days, serving approximately 3,000 to 4,000 pilgrims daily. He urged pilgrims to adhere to the administration's guidelines and spread the message of peace and hospitality of the people of Jammu after completing their Yatra.
Prominent attendees at the event included SAYWS ex-MLA Ashok Khajuria, Senior Vice-President Shri Anil Gupta, and General Secretary Prem Sharma, among others.
SAYWS' commitment to serving the pilgrims reflects the essence of communal harmony and hospitality ingrained in the cultural fabric of Jammu. Commissioner Sanjeev Verma visit further validates the society's noble efforts, leaving a lasting impression on the pilgrims and strengthening the bond of camaraderie among all involved in the auspicious Amarnath Yatra.
