8/5/2023 10:30:40 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 5: J&K National Conference is determined to undo the mess created by the BJP in the Municipal Bodies of Jammu and Kashmir through its victorious participation in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections. The party's resolute mission is to restore good governance, transparency, and integrity, ensuring a corruption-free regime for the benefit of the people.
In this regard, a meeting of Party's unit of Jammu District Urban was held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu which was organized under the chairmanship of Chander Mohan Sharma, President Jammu District Urban who apprised the senior functionaries of Party about the hardships being faced by the people of Jammu City. He said people are deprived of the basic amenities and Municipal Corporation has become a den of corruption.
The Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta lamented that the incumbent Govt is making tall claims of transparency and corruption free society but the fact remains that corruption rules the roost. He claimed that once the NC wins the ULB elections it will definitely eradicate corruption and promote transparency in the working of all the Municipal bodies in Jammu and Kashmir, the working of which has suffered badly under the present regime. He alleged that the functioning of the Jammu Municipal Corporation is in utter mess and chaos as a result of which not only people are suffering on account of inadequate civic amenities but even the workers of the corporation especially the Safaikaramcharis have a long list of their woes with nobody to listen and address their problems.
Rattan Lal Gupta asked the party workers to leave no stone unturned to ensure Party's unprecedented success in the upcoming ULB polls, adding that the Party will improve the civic amenities to the optimum standard besides transforming the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) which is presently in utter mess and shabby condition. Mr Gupta asked the L.G administration to roll back the direction/ orders for the installation of prepaid smart meters and best interest of the people of J&K.
Rattan Lal asserted that if the Party wins the ULB polls it will improve the civic amenities to the optimum level. "The Party will bring Jammu on the forefront at the national level by promoting cleanliness, opening of health Centres at Ward level, regular supply of drinking water, modernization of Jammu city and streamlining the parking chaos that has been causing a lot of inconvenience to the people in Jammu for long now. The party shall also roll back illegal property tax imposed by the present regime.
Addressing the meeting Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former minister and Central Secretary highlighted the critical importance of the upcoming elections as an opportunity for J&K National Conference to establish a corruption-free regime in the Municipal Bodies. He emphasized the party's dedication to instilling good governance practices and eliminating corruption at all levels of government.
He said J&K National Conference firmly believes in the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. The party aims to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the people, ensuring their active participation in decision-making processes and providing them with efficient municipal services, he added.
Babu Rampaul former minister and Central Zone President highlighted Party's agenda which include revitalizing and modernizing infrastructure, improving waste management systems, fostering economic growth, and creating robust employment opportunities. Furthermore, J&K National Conference pledges to support the holistic development of education, healthcare, and social welfare programs, enhancing the quality of life for all residents, he added.
