8/5/2023 10:31:23 PM
Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 5: A massive protest led by Harsh Dev Singh, Former Minister and President Panthers Party, was held at Gole Market, Udhampur, where JKNPP workers and affected individuals accused the J&K Co-operative Housing Corporation Ltd and J&K Housing Board of cheating and extorting money from the people of Udhampur.
The protestors demanded a refund of money charged from them and urged for the provision of basic facilities in Devika Vihar Colony, which were initially assured to them. They raised slogans against the J&K Housing Corporation and Housing Board, as well as the BJP government, alleging that several BJP leaders had financial interests in the fraudulent Co-operative Housing Corporation.
During the protest, complaints were submitted to the SSP Office, Udhampur, seeking the registration of FIRs against the fraudulent Housing Corporation and its accomplices, and the return of wrongfully charged money to the public.
Harsh Dev Singh addressed the crowd and highlighted that thousands of people in District Udhampur were deceived by Housing Colonizers, who promised to settle them in posh localities in the city. However, the promised amenities, such as internal roads, power, water, and parks, were never provided, leaving the residents in distress.
The protesters also accused the J&K Housing Board Jammu of collecting amounts ranging from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1000/- per application for plots in Battal Ballian, Udhampur, in 2010, without allotting any plots or refunding the money.
