| 2 peddlers nabbed with 2000 tablets | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 5: Two notorious drug peddlers have been arrested by police with a consignment of 2000 tablets of drugs abuse nature.
A team of Rajouri police headed by Deputy SP Headquarter, Mudassir Hussain alongwith SHO Rajouri Aejaz Ahmed Wani and SI Kulwinder Dev intercepted a person and found ten strips of tablets of drugs abuse category.
Later, the police team alongwith Drugs Inspector raided a location near PHE office on Salani road and found a consignment of one hundred and ninty strips of these tablets.
In total, two hundred strips of tablets of drug abuse nature with two thousand tablets in number have been seized during police action.
Two notorious peddlers have been detained in the case who include Aejaz Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid resident of Nadian Rajouri and Ibrar Ahmed son of Shabir Ahmed resident of Nadian Rajouri.
Police said to have taken cognizance of the matter.
SSP Rajouri Amritpal Singh (IPS) said that drugs abuse and narcotics addiction and peddling is a major challenge and Rajouri police has already launched a mission against it.
He said that under this mission, many notorious narcotic peddlers have been detained under PSA and other sections of law so as to tighten noose against these notorious peddlers.
SSP Rajouri further said that during raid on Friday evening, consignment of 2000 tablets of drug abuse category have been seized and two person have been arrested. |
