Early Times Report

DODA, Aug 5: Doda administration in its endeavour to give picturesque Lal draman meadow its due place on the tourism map of UT of J&K hosts two-day Youth conclave/ Lal draman Summer festival, which commenced from today with thousands of visitors converging in Lal Draman meadow. Nature's marvel, mesmerizing, and beautiful meadows remain distant from its due and deserving place in the tourism map because of its nonconnectivity by road.
The district administration, under the leadership of DC Doda Vishesh Mahajan, strived hard and succeeded in connecting through the road, much famed Lal Draman, recently.
Doda administration in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism Jammu, and Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art Culture & Languages, is hosting the two-day Youth Conclave/ Lal Draman tourism promotion Mela here, at Lal Draman from today.
Lal Draman is a scenic meadow located 15 km from Doda town. It is surrounded by mountains and landscapes, making it a popular destination for local and outside tourists. The meadow is also home to a rich cultural heritage, with traditional customs and practices still prevalent among the local community.
DC Doda Vishesh Mahajan and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom visited the festival and inspected the arrangements. DC Mahajan inaugurated the Bijerni Lal Draman Road and Two-Day Summer festival at Lal Draman. A colourful cultural programme by local artists kept the audience spell bound. A Kabbadi championship was held along with other local games on day one. Tentage facility has been made available for visitors staying here, and the facility shall remain available here till October 31st on a payment basis.
Other activities of tourist attraction remained trekking, zorbing, Zipline, marathon, local cuisines, horse riding, and displaying art & craft stalls showcasing agro-based and rural Tourism.
DC Doda, while interacting with the media, has urged the youth to promote the local offbeat tourist places, local culture, food, and heritage, which in turn will bring economic prosperity in the district. He advocated for Jan Bhagidari and said that everyone must owe the responsibility in protecting the ecosystem/ environment, promote cleanliness, work for hormony, and protect local resources.
He advised the youth to take the path of progress and contribute to the nation building and remain away from drugs and other harmful activities dangerous for their future and for society.
He informed that Union Government and UT administration has launched Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign to foster the patriotic fervour among the people.
He urged the people, especially youth, to take selfie with Tiranga, Maati and remember this Independence Day 2023, the real Heroes who gave the supreme sacrifice for our nation and for our safe/ secure future.
