Various Political parties, organizations and Institutes celebrate 60th Republic Day

The 60th Republic Day through out the state was celebrated with full patriotism. The day started with “ Shahani Vadan and playing of patriotic songs by Information Department.
The main function was held at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, as the state celebrated 60th Republic Day amidst tight security, where Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on unfurled the Tricolour .
Vohra took the salute from a ceremonial parade, comprising the smartly dressed marching contingents of Army, state police wings, paramilitary forces, National Cadet Corps (NCC), school children and sports persons.
School children also presented a colourful cultural programme on the occasion in the jam-packed stadium. The event also witnessed many senior civil and police officials forming part of the viewers despite cold weather conditions.
On the occasion of Republic Day, BJP State President Ashok Khajuria hoisted tricolor at party headquarters amid party activists chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai slogans. Sweets were also distributed among the party activists after flag hoisting.
Speaking on the importance of the day, Ashok Khajuria said that it was on this day in the year 1950 that our country became a Republic as we adopted our own constitution. He said we got freedom from the British after decades of slavery and for that we sacrificed thousands of patriotic people.He, on this occasion, asked the party activists to get united to fail the nefarious designs of the anti-national elements. He said the need of the time is to rise above religion or political affiliations and work whole- heartedly to strengthen the social fabric in the country.

Suresh Jamwal,Bali Bhagat,Yudhvir Sethi,Kavinder Gupta, Charanjit Singh, CA Sat Sharma, Balbir Ram, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Ashwani Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Bansi Lal Bharti, Rajinder Sharma, Narsingh Dass, Subhash Gupta,Rajinder Gupta, Sakina Bano, Sureshta Jamwal,Sheela Handoo,Sunil Dogra,Tilak Raj Mahajan and Pranav Gupta were prominent among those who took part in the flag hoisting ceremony at party headquarters. Ashok Khajuria also hoisted national flag at City Chowk, Peermitha, Raj tilak road, Vikram Chowk, Trikuta Nagar Market and residency Roads.

Ramesh Arora (Adv.) President Arora Bans Sabha hoisted flag at kachi Chawni, Jammu, the occasion was graced by the presence of Vijay Grover General Secretary, S.S. Dua, Suraj Arora, Sawantar Arora Dy. SP, Satish, Rajesh Kesari Balbir Ram and many other.
The function culminated after National anthum and addressed by Ramesh Arora who appealed the gathering to fight for the uplifting of National Interest as many have laid life to get freedom. On Republic Day we should solute them. Militancy has to place in present democratic society. He congratulated all on this pious occasion.

The 60the Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotism at Jammu University where Vice Chancellor Jammu University, Prof. Varun Sahni hoisted the National Flag and released the balloons. After the flag hosting ceremony the guard of honor was presented to the Vice Chancellor by the security staff of the University led by Capt. SR Dubey.
Addressing the University fraternity, Vice Chancellor congratulated one and all and said that we have to grow from strength to strength as a Nation. Each one us must contribute in nation building in own humble ways. He also paid tributes to the great martyrs who laid their lives for our future. He exhorted the University fraternity to work fervently for the nation as well as for the institution.
Dean Student Welfare, Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau, welcomed the university fraternity on the on the 60th Republic Day and said that we have to dedicate ourselves to the nation and work for the unity and integrity of the country. Others who graced the occasion included Director Physical Education, Prof. Lokesh Verma, Director DDE , Prof. Rajeev Gupta, Director Collges, Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Assistant Dean Cultural Affairs, Vijay Attri and Deans, Heads of the Teaching Departments scholars and students of the university

J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra School For Hearing & Speech Handicapped Boys & Girls joined the Nation in celebrations on 60thRepublic Day in the School premises. Physically challenged children along with their parents, members of the social charitable Organization and teaching faculty of the Institution participated in the function in good number. Flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by J.K.Vaid, Gen.Secretary of the Kendra and National Anthem was sung in unison. The celebrations culminated with distribution of sweets.
It is noteworthy to observe that the hearing and speech impaired children too are not behind the normal children in sharing and displaying rare enthusiasm and spirit in observing the national event of supreme importance.
Divine Light Kids Academy ( DLKA) Gandhi Nagar too celebrated the 60the Republic Day in the school premises with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The kids in colorful dresses were the cynosures of all eyes and patriot songs sung by the blooming kids gave enhancement to the show. The National flag was hoisted in the school premises and National Anthem was sung by the kids. Principal of the school, Sanjana Kamotra on thi occasion enlightened the kids to inculcate the habit of patriotism to face all challenges that comes in the way of its development with great zeal and dedication.
Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Gandhi Nagar too celebrated the 60th Republic day at school premises. Dr. Chitra Misra Venue Principal was the chief guest on the occasion unfurled the National flag.
Tiny tots of the school on the occasion read out the speech on the Republic Day and its significance in Indian Context. They also presented cultural program consisting of dance and song sequences by the students. Special attraction of the programme was the violin recital by the Sushant Sahu of class 3rd accompanied by Inder Preet Singh on Tabla and Vibhu Goswami on Harmonium. Dr. Chitra while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the constitution Of India and role of Indian democracy in the whole world.
Govt. Higher Secondary School Garota too celebrated the Republic Day with great zeal. Principal of the school on the occasion hoisted the National flag . In his speech he urged upon the students to develop mral values and socialistic attitude among themselves to become the respectable citizens of the country.


Rajinder Bazar Traders Welfare Association (RBTWA) today celebrated 60th Republic Day, with great enthusiasm. A large number of shopkeepers, traders and residents of Rajinder Bazar gathered at a crossing, where the national tricolor was hoisted among shouting of slogans by the Krishan Lal Gupta Chairman of the association.
Addressing the gathering Krishan Lal Gupta laid stress and eulogized the sacrifices made by many martyrs, in the freedom struggle of the country, he also explained the importance of celebrating the day, with patriotic furvour, by taking fresh resolve to maintain and safeguard the hard earned freedom and unity of the country.
On this occasion halwa was distributed as Prasad among the participants, including a large number of Kashmiri labourers working in the market.
Prominent among those who participated were Atul Rajpal President, Banarsi Dass Angral & Sham Lal Gupta Patrons, Master Mansa Ram & Mahesh Kohli Sr. Vice Presidents, Pritam Rohmetra Vice President, Raj Kumar Gupta Gen. Krishan Gopal Bhatia Secy, Parvez Malik Joint Secretary, Balraj Gupta Treasurer, Sheikh Mohammad, Kuldeep Khandari, Mohan Lal Goel, Ashwani Kumar, Arum Gupta CA, Mohinder Gupta Advocate, Bansi Lal Uppal, Ravi Bhati and others.

In collaboration with Global sewa turst and Starlit Production Jammu Republic day was celebrated in the premises of Unique Public . Commissioner/secretary to Government ARI/Training department Jammu S.Prithpal Singh Betab IAS unfolded the Tricolour National Flag- Tiranga who was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A large number of local people, students and parents of school children participated in the function. The function was started with the reciting of Shabad Gurbani. Dr. Satinder Singh read the welcome address. Chief Guest also delivered an impressive speech on this occasion. Cultural programme was presented by the school children.
Sh. Suriender Mohan Raina and Shakundeepmala also spoke on the occasion and through light on the importance of this day. Miss Jyoti devi conducted the programme.
of Republic Day at Blind School Ambphala, Jammu. Sh. Sham Singh Senior Divisional

All India Insurance Employees Association (J&K State) organized a function on the eve of Republic Day at Blind School Ambphala, Jammu. Sh. Sham Singh Senior Divisional Manager Life Insurance Corporation of India hoisted the flag and after that national Anthem has been sung by all who were present there.
While speaking the chief Guest said that it the most important day for all the citizen of our country and we felt pleasure to celebrate this day with the children of this school.
Sh. Pawan Gupta Divisional Secretary of the Association delivered a vote of thanks to the children of the school and participants.
Sh Romesh Chand said that this organization is already of the vision for working for the people of India and for the down trodden people and other people taken the pledge to donate the eyes for the blind people make their life lighter in the presence scenario of the world on this auspicious day.
Main purpose of the function on this special day to create awareness among masses so that they come forward for the service of the blind people and also down trodden and orphan children of the Bal Niketan.
Representative of the All India Insurance Employees Association apprised the role of Managing Body of National Federation of Blind.
Other who spoke on the occasion were S/Sh. Dalip Koul (GIC), Rajesh Gupta, S.K. Bhat, G.S. Parmar, Rakesh Mangotra, Raj Kumar, Javed Ahmed Bukheri, B.L. Verma and others.


Janta Dal (Secular) workers too celebrated the Republic day by hositing the National flag at Nagrota. After the hosting ceremony, party state secretary Rama Rattan Sharma congratulated all the workers in particular and country men overall. He requested all the people ot be united to tight evils particularly, Anti Indian Militants, which has become threat to global peace.
State Bank of India, Administrative office Bahu Palza too celebrated Republic Day with great fervor and gaiety. The National flag was hoisted by Deputy General Manager ( J&K) SP Singh. In his address he reaffirmed to provide quality services by SBI to the people of J&K.

60th Republic day was celebrated by the office of the Executive Director, Region -I, NHPC Limited, Jammu at Railway Siding Complex with great pomp & show. A large number of employees and CISF personnel participated. Jatinder Singh, Executive Director hoisted the tricolor. Speaking on the occasion, Singh said that on 26th January, 1950 India became Republic and recalled Dr. BR. Ambedkar who wrote the constitution of India. He further said that the freedom for the Country was not obtained easily but after a prolonged struggle.
Speaking about NHPC, Singh said that still we have many miles to go and many targets to achieve and he hoped that in next five years NHPC shall double its generation by commissioning many projects under construction. On the occasion, advised the employees to work hard with dedication for progress and prosperity of NHPC and the Nation as well. The Function concluded with distribution of sweets among the employees.
Similar celebrations were also held on the occasion of 60th Republic Day Salal Power Station in a befitting manner. Amiya Paul, General Manager of Salal Power Station was the Chief Guest of the programme. While taking the salute of the parade and addressing the gathering on this occasion, GM briefed about the major achievements of NHPC Limited and Salal Power Station during 2008. Under Corporate Social Responsibility-Community Development (CSR-CD) programmes which includes free 1 year Computer training imparted to 13 students belonging to BPL category, distribution of winter uniforms, Jute mats, Steel almirahs, dual desks, scholarship for meritorious students in the nearby schools renovation of Mandir, Masjid, Gurdwara & Church and other developmental works in the adjoining areas.
J&K PHE Daily Wagers Union and J&K PHE Employees Union Jammu hoisted the National flag in the Union Head office Bakshi Nagar. Large numbers of employees of PHE attended the holy function. National flag was hoisted by Sr. Vice President J&K National Tarde Union Front S. Kamaljeet Singh Khalsa.
The Indian National Trade Uniuon Congress has celebrated the 60 Republic day with great zeal like in the past at PHE pumping station Sub. Division –Ist company Bagh Jammu in which Chief Engineer PHE Department , VK Abrol sppech narrated the importance of this day and urged employees and workers to work dedicatedly and honestly and also remain alert to safe guard the property of the PHE Department from the antisocial elements.
The Republic Day was celebrated with special fervor and gaiety by the people of Rajouri and Poonch Districts and troops of Romeo Force. Reflecting true Unity in Diversity, the celebrations were a portrait of perfect communal harmony, brotherhood and indicative of Khushaal Jammu – Kashmir, signifying the return to normalcy in the serene twin districts. The celebrations commenced with hoisting of the national flag, singing of national anthem and impressive march past by smartly turned out school children. This was followed by a colour cultural programme, distribution of sweets and prizes. The Alima Iqal’s famous song, Sare Jahan Se Acha, Hindustan Hamara was also sung by the children. This immortal song has a special resonance for the urdu speaking area and its strains echoed in the backdrop. Besides the school children, the participants included prominent politicians, bureaucrats, civil and military dignitaries, Sarpanch, Panchayat members, Zonal Educational Officer, teachers, parents of children and people from different walks of life.
GOC Romeo Force conveyed his greeting to all the troops of Romeo Force and to the awaam of the two districts on the occasion. The remote areas of Surankot and adjoining areas of snow capped mountain peaks of the Pir Panjal near Poonch and other places on relatively lower heights like Kalai, Bachianwali, Muri, Khanetar, Salani and Bhagiot witnessed scores of people coming out in large numbers to participate in the Republic day celebrations despite low temperatures and cold. Approximately 20000 persons attended the celebrations.
Similar celebrations were also organized in the remote areas of Mendhar and Thanamandi Tehsils. The locals were appreciative of the efforts of Romeo Force in restoration of normalcy in the twin districts and promised to lend whole hearted support and cooperation towards ensuring normalcy in the region. The awaam also treasured the celebrations which had a message of harmony and brotherhood for one and all.

Mean while despite of severe cold, Republic day was celebrated with great fervor and gaiety at Khree Sultan Sports Stadium Kargil today. Chairman /Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Kargil Kacho Ahmed Ali Khan unfurled the National flag and inspected the parade and took a salute of March past. The contingents of JK Police, NCC and various educational institutions took part in the march past. Speaking to the gathering Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan congratulated the people of Kargil district on this great historic day and paid rich tributes to those leaders/martyrs that laid their lives and made struggle for the sake of country and also highlighted significance of the day.
