| Nurse caught siphoning money from ATM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 27: In a bizarre incident a multipurpose staff nurse deputed in Gandhi Nagar hospital stole purse of her colleague and ventured to withdraw Rs 18,000 from her account but she did not ever think that her activities were being captured by cameras which landed her in police custody. One Jatinder Kaur wife of Kulbir Singh resident of Nowabad a staff nurse in Gandhi Nagar hospital lodged a complaint in Gandhi Nagar police station that her purse containing some cash and ATM card was stolen from the staff room. A police team led by SHO Sultan Mirza under the supervision SSP Jammu Manohar Singh and SP North Mubisheer Latifi was constituted. Team approached to J and K bank, Gandhi Nagar from where it came to know that rupees eighteen thousand has been withdrawn from the account of Jatinder Kaur. Police then requested the manager of the bank to display the footage of CCTV camera installed at the ATM chamber, Gandhi Nagar.The footage was shown to the victim where she recognized her companion identified as Sanjana Kumari daughter of Mangat Ram resident of Udhampur at present Patel Bazar. SSP Jammu Manohar Singh said, “withdrawing money through ATM card is possible only when you know the account number which made us suspicious that it was the act of some internal person”. During questioning she admitted her crime and stolen rupees were recovered from her possession. She was booked under section 380 RPC in Gandhi Nagar police station. Medical Superintendent of Gandhi Nagar hospital Koli, on account of departmental enquiry against the accused, when contacted said, “she summoned all the staff and asked them if they had seen the purse but no one admitted,” .She further said, “ the director health has been informed to initiate the departmental inquiry against her”.
