Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 9: J&K National Conference has raised an alarming red flag over the continuous neglect of far flung areas of Kishtwar and Bhadarwah regions of Jammu and Kashmir under the present dispensation. The sorry state of affairs has left people grappling with deteriorating infrastructure of tourism sector, roads, power and water supplies, healthcare and other unattended public services, and a grim outlook for development of rural and far off areas. In a statement issued here today, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President JKNC Jammu. He said that contrary to claims all the development projects have been stalled in the region with helmsmen having no clue about the funding procedure because the same have not been released so far. “This shows that there is much difference between words and deeds of the government as far as development is concerned because not only Kishtwar and Bhadarwah regions but the entire J&K is facing development dearth as indifference of concerned quarters galore in the region”, Gupta said, adding that government authorities are in deep slumber while the people are confronting issues and difficulties with regard to health, civic infra, power and water crisis, etc.
The Provincial President asserted that BJP double engine government is only best in rhetoric as helmsmen never get tired of self-praise but on ground the performance level is abysmal with common man facing the brunt of development deficit. “The dismal scenario of development projects with no progress in last over couple of years, the deadlines made public have been overshooting but those sitting at helm are taking things casually thus adding miseries into the lives of people”, he said, adding that J&K is right now treading on the mercy of God as those sitting at helm are enjoying loaves of power giving two hoots to the responsibility on their shoulders to take care of common man. The senior NC leader stated that the youth of Bhadarwah and Kishtwar regions hit the hardest by rampant unemployment. Despite the presence of hydroelectric power projects in these regions, the local population has not reaped the benefits as expected. The government’s lack of action and adherence to norms has left the youth struggling for employment opportunities and the overall development of these regions has been hindered, he added.
Rattan Lal appealed to the residents of Kishtwar and Bhadarwah to stand united and support the National Conference in the upcoming elections for a brighter future of people of the regions.
Meanwhile, the Provincial President announced the formation of Kishtwar District Committees in view of upcoming ULB elections.
The committee members of district Kishtwar included Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo as its Chairman; Imtiyaz Ahmed Zargar, Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Abdul Latief Bagwan, Saroop Chand, Shabir Ahmed Kamal, Qazi Mohd Imran, Shahid Parvez Kraipak, Ishtiyaq Ahmed Malik, Rajinder Kumar Sen, Abdul Hamid Dev, Nazir Ahmed Mir.
