ADGP Jammu zone reviews security arrangements ahead of August 15

Jammu, Aug 9: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh-IPS, chaired a meeting comprising representatives from Army, BSF, CAPF, Intelligence agencies, Police, Security wing, and Civil administration to discuss security arrangements in preparation for the upcoming 15th August, 2023.
During the meeting, the participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the proposed security deployment plan by the District Police and Security wing at and around the venue of the Independence Day celebrations in Jammu district.
Discussions ensued on various security assessments and emerging threats, with inputs from intelligence agencies, Army, CRPF, BSF, and CID. ADGP Sh. Mukesh Singh-IPS emphasized the importance of adapting to the latest trends in terror activities and urged all agencies to collaborate in mitigating potential threats.
The meeting highlighted key areas of focus, including anti-drone measures, border deployment strategies, safeguarding Police and Army establishments, launching offensive operations in specific ranges, and taking preventive actions across various districts.
Joint checkpoints at vulnerable locations and inter-district boundaries were also emphasized to enhance security. Emphasizing the dual responsibility of ensuring a peaceful Amar Nath Ji Yatra while preparing for the Independence Day celebrations, ADGP Mukesh Singh-IPS suggested implementing the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” program. He further proposed organizing Tiranga Rallies at strategic locations involving students from colleges and schools, promoting a sense of national pride and unity.
The meeting was attended by various high-ranking officers from different security agencies, including DD IB Jammu, DIG JSK Range, DIG Range CRPF Jammu, Dy. Commissioner Jammu, SSP PCR Jammu, SSP Jammu, and others.
The collaborative approach discussed in the meeting signifies the commitment of various agencies towards ensuring a safe and secure environment during the upcoming celebrations.
