GDC Khour’s NSS unit takes “Panch Pran Pledge” in alignment with “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign

Khour, Aug 9: The NSS unit of Government Degree College Khour took a proud stride forward by conducting the “Panch Pran Pledge” event as a part of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” (MMMD) campaign.
Held within the college premises, the event resonated with the essence of the campaign and its underlying principles.
This initiative marks a significant stride in nurturing awareness among students about “Meri Maati Mera Desh” and its core values.
The MMMD campaign, a nationwide undertaking, aims to kindle reverence and dedication among citizens towards the country’s development. Around 30 students, along with the college’s Principal, Prof. Tarsem Lal, the IQAC Convenor, and other faculty members, enthusiastically participated in the “Panch Pran Pledge.”
The pledge symbolizes a collective commitment to making India self-reliant by 2047, eradicating remnants of the colonial mindset, celebrating India’s rich culture, fortifying unity, and honoring the sacrifices of martyrs and freedom fighters who safeguarded the nation. Each participant pledged to fulfill their duties as responsible citizens.
Prof. Tarsem Lal, the Principal of the college, expressed, “The ‘Panch Pran Pledge’ event encapsulates the essence of responsible citizenship and our duty towards the nation.”
The event was orchestrated by NSS Program Officer Prof. Gurvinder Kour, under the expert guidance of the college’s Principal, Dr. T. K. Sharma.
This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to instill patriotic values and foster a sense of responsibility and commitment to the nation’s progress.
