8/9/2023 10:33:48 PM
Early Times Report

Sidhra, Aug 9: During the 103rd edition of Mann Ki Baat on July 30, 2023, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi introduced a unique concept to celebrate the 77th Independence Day – the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign. Aligned with the Amrit Mahotsav festivities, this nationwide initiative, spanning August 9 to August 15, aims to honor and appreciate the sacrifices of the martyred bravehearts, while celebrating the nation’s achievements.
Under the banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, the NSS Unit of GDC Sidhra, in collaboration with the IQAC, organized a pledge-taking ceremony to inaugurate the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign. The event witnessed active participation from NSS volunteers, students, the college’s esteemed Principal, and staff members, as they undertook the Panch Pran Pledge. This pledge signifies a commitment to uphold the five principles that drive India towards becoming a developed nation by its 100th Independence Day.
The program was conducted under the patronage of Dr. B. B. Anand, the Principal of GDC Sidhra. The event’s successful execution was made possible through the dedicated support and coordination of Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, Program Officer of NSS Unit, Prof. Deepa Kak, Dr. Satbir Kour, Dr. Anu Sharma, and Prof. Rudrika Khajuria.
The ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign, in line with the larger Amrit Mahotsav celebration, encourages ‘Jan Bhagidari’ by hosting diverse programs and events at various levels – from villages and Panchayats to Blocks, Urban Local Bodies, States, and the national level. This campaign reflects the spirit of unity and gratitude, paying homage to the brave souls who laid down their lives for the nation.
As GDC Sidhra initiates the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign with the pledge ceremony, it reaffirms its commitment to the vision of a developed India and embraces the essence of unity, progress, and national pride.
