| Tarigami wants end to erratic power supply | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Jan 27: The CPI (M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam, M.Y. Tarigami has expressed deep anguish over the erratic power supply in the valley and has appealed the government to take contingency measure to streamline it. In a statement issued here today, Tarigami said that the intermittent and long power cuts in the valley has not only put consumers to great inconveniences, but has badly affected the industrial units, commercial establishments and essential services. He said that it has become a routine matter that with the onset of winter and move of offices to Jammu, power supply, availability of essential commodities and other services get affected in the valley and administration assumes dormant mood. “Hibernation and insensitivity of the administration and field functionaries result in inconveniences to the valleities and their helplessness remains their without any ones attention”, He alleged and hoped that the state government should forthwith sensitize the administration for mitigating people’s sufferings. He suggested the state government to devise a long lasting and purposeful energy policy to cope up the power crisis in the state once for all. For the purpose, he suggested operationalization of gas turbines and setting up of micro hydro and thermal power plants in the state. Welcoming Chief Minister’s recent announcement of setting of a transform reservoir, Tarigami demanded immediate replacement of damaged transformers wherever needed. He also demanded maintaining proper loud shedding to give some relief to the consumers and also appealed the state government to ensure adequate availability of essential commodities in the valley, besides improving of the other services and the purpose the concerned quarters should be reactivated.
