Jammu, January 27: Arrangements for one day Police Public Mela being held at Police Sports Stadium Gulshan Ground on February, 8th were discussed at a meeting held here today. Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association, Dr. Indu Khoda presided. Other senior police officers and members of Police Wives Welfare Association also participated in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the Chairperson JKPWWA said that the raffle draw tickets have been made available at various prominent places in Jammu and Srinagar and also in various educational institutions for the children who are keenly waiting for grand event. She enquired about the boarding and lodging facilities of stall holders who are coming here from all the regions to participate in the gala event and was informed that fool proof arrangements were made for their stay, accommodation and transportation etc. She instructed concerned authorities to ensure the availability of tickets till the day of Mela. Dr. Indu Khoda stressed upon all the members and organizers that names of the raffle draw ticket holders with counterfoils should be maintained properly and gave strict instructions to deposit the amount and counterfoils with senior functionaries before the raffle draw to be held on the Mela day upto 2 p.m. She said prizes would be handed over to the prize winners' on-the-spot on production of original tickets before the audience in the afternoon at 4 p.m. She discussed various issues with the members of association and organizing committee and gave valuable suggestions to make the event a grand success. She said painting competition among the wards of police personnel, would be part of the mela and special prizes would be given to the winners on the spot. She also instructed to display thebanners at prominent places in the city of temples. Earlier, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu Range, Mr. A.Q. Manhas, who is also Chairman Mela Management Committee, briefed the Chairperson, JKWWA and other members of the association about the steps taken with regard to availability of tickets for public, security, sanitation around the venue, space for stall holders, arrival of VIP for inauguration, deployment of personnel to help the visitors, distribution of invitations and other arrangements made to make the event a success Among others the meeting was attended by all members of J&K Wives Welfare Association, DIG (Armed) Jammu, Mr. Deepak Kumar, AIG (Provision) PHQ, Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, AIG (Welfare) PHQ Dr. S. P. Koshal Commandant, (Nodal Officer of the Mela) Mrs. Manju Rashid, SSP, Jammu, Mr. Manohar Singh and other police officers.
