| J&K Govt’s discussion with Planning Commission today Pay hike, plan size on agenda | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 27: In face of a stiff demand from the employees for hike in their salaries and the upcoming financial year, a team of Jammu and Kashmir’s government is off to New Delhi to have a meeting the Planning Commission. Sources said that funding for implementation of the recommendations of pay panel and decision on the plan size or on the agenda of the government’s discussion with the Planning Commission. The meeting is slated for 11 AM on Wednesday. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is already in New Delhi and he will be joined by the Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather in the meeting. Earlier in the day the Economic Advisor to the Government Jalil Ahmed Khan, the Financial Commissioner Planning and Development SL Bhatt and Commissioner-Secretary Finance BB Vyas left for New Delhi to join the Chief Minister in discussions with the Planning Commission. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is in New Delhi, today called on the President,. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The President complimented Mr. Abdullah on assuming the charge of the Chief Minister of the State. The Chief Minister briefed the President about the State and thanked her for her compliments. Abdullah also called on the Vice-President, Mr. Muhammad Hamid Ansari, here today. The Vice-President also congratulated Mr. Abdullah and wished him success. The Chief Minister also thanked him for his well wishes. The Chief Minister who reached the Union Capital today, met the Union Minister for Water Resources, Prof. Saifuddin Soz and Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Mr. Arjun Singh also.
