| Cop suspended after tricolor blunder | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 27: An officer of Jammu and Kashmir Police was suspended after the tricolor failed to unfurl in time during the flag hoisting ceremony on the 60th Republic Day function in Poonch district yesterday, official sources here today said. Despite several attempts made by the Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, who was the chief guest on the occasion, the Tricolor failed to unfurl and the pole on which the flag was placed came down during the function, sources said, adding that the hoisting ceremony got delayed and the flag was unfurled later. Taking a notice of the incident, the BJP activists of protested against the authorities and demanded action against the officials responsible for causing disrespect to the National Flag. However, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Sagra Singh, who was the in-charge of making arrangements at the venue, has been placed under suspension and an inquiry has been ordered against him.
