AKHNOOR, Aug 13: The Indian Army organized a heartfelt event to pay tribute to the late Hav Sardari Lal, an Ashok Chakra awardee of 3 Grenadiers, who made the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Cactus Lily. The event was held at his birthplace in Akhnoor, and it served as both a homage to the brave soldier's memory and a step towards environmental nurturing.
Hav Sardari Lal's widow, Smt. Chanchala Devi, a 92-year-old lady, led a tree plantation drive along with local villagers as a mark of respect and remembrance. Hav Sardari Lal's legacy of bravery and dedication was continued by his wife through the act of planting trees, symbolizing growth, life, and memory.
The event was organized under the initiatives 'Mera Maati Mera Desh' and 'Veeron Ko Naman', reaffirming the Indian Army's commitment to honoring the sacrifices of soldiers like Hav Sardari Lal and contributing to environmental betterment. The event, held with solemnity and pride, celebrated the martyr's memory as an inspiration for future generations.
The event took place at the memorial of Hav Sardari Lal, which stands as a constant reminder of his selfless dedication to the nation. During the event, a collective oath-taking ceremony emphasized the twin goals of safeguarding the motherland and preserving the environment. This pledge reflects the unity and responsibility shared by the Indian Army and the community in protecting the nation's integrity and natural resources.
The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including the Gram Panchayat Sachiv, Local Sarpanch, and SHO Gharota.
Their participation highlights the unity between the armed forces, local governance, and the community in upholding patriotism and environmental conservation.
The Indian Army expressed its gratitude to all participants who contributed to the success of the event.
The homage paid to Hav Sardari Lal and the tree plantation drive showcase the unwavering commitment of the armed forces to national security and environmental preservation.
