Sadhotra criticizes BJP for disinformation campaign against NC

Jammu, Aug 14: Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, a senior leader of the Jammu Kashmir National Conference, sternly criticized BJP leaders for their lack of understanding of Jammu and Kashmir's history and the contributions made by the National Conference leadership in shaping it as a vital part of India. Addressing the audience in Thathar, Jammu North Assembly Constituency, Sadhotra highlighted the BJP's attempts to undermine the significant role of leaders like Dr. Farooq Abdullah in nation-building and restoring peace in the region.
He called out BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and others for belittling Dr. Farooq Abdullah's contributions and for downplaying the historic presentation in the United Nations during times of turmoil, where Dr. Farooq Abdullah represented India's stance on bilateral issue resolution. Sadhotra also drew parallels between this stance and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's quote about neighbors, highlighting the contradiction in BJP's reactions.
Sadhotra stated that the unity of India, which is crucial for a diverse and multi-religious nation, has been compromised due to the BJP's divisive and hate-driven politics. He urged people to remain vigilant against attempts by the BJP to incite passions on religious issues in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. He emphasized that divisive politics goes against the ethos of India and its multi-faceted cultural fabric, and encouraged people to stand united against such tactics.
He expressed confidence that people will thwart such divisive attempts and maintain the flame of secularism despite provocations. Sadhotra criticized the BJP for its double standards and advised its leadership to acknowledge the ground realities instead of painting an overly rosy picture. He warned that people's anger and resentment will be evident in the upcoming elections.
Sadhotra highlighted that the achievements made by the National Conference government under Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah were eroded after the so-called double-engine government took over in 2014.
During the meeting, Mr. Gourav Singh Jamwal was appointed as the Block President of Youth National Conference Jammu North. Numerous youth joined the National Conference on this occasion. Sadhotra and other leaders congratulated the new entrants and expressed hope that they will strengthen the party and support its leadership under Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah. Mr. Gourav Singh Jamwal pledged his dedication to strengthening the party and reaching out to the youth of his block. The event saw the participation of various other leaders from the National Conference.
