| 2 held for BSF jawan’s murder | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two people, including a woman, for killing a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, whose headless and limbless body was found near a nullah in tehsil Mendhar of Poonch district, sources here today said. ''After working on various theories, police today solved the mysterious murder of the BSF jawan and arrested his wife and son-in-law of the BSF jawan, who had come on leave to his native place and was found dead on January 25,'' sources said. The headless body of the BSF personnel identified as Mohd Lateef, resident of Mendhar was recovered from a nullah. ''The wife of the deceased identified as Ulfat Bi and his son-in-law Iftikhar Ahmed Khan have been arrested as both of them are the prime accused behind his murder,'' a senior police official said, adding that they were being questioned, while motive behind killing is yet to be ascertained. The BSF jawan who was posted at Siliguri, West Bengal, was promoted from Hawaldar to Subedar, four days ago. He went missing on January 22 and a complaint regarding this was lodged at Mendhar Police Station on January 24 on which the police started investigations.
