New Delhi, Jan 29: Jammu and Kashmir's separatist leader Mohammad Yasin Malik is all set to marry artist Mushal Hussain soon, Voice of America-Urdu online reports. The VOA-Urdu, however, did not reveal the date on which they would tie the nuptial knot.
One of the paintings by Mushal.Mushal, a UK-born Pakistani, holds a post-graduate degree in Political economy from London School of Economics and is known for her nude drawings. Her inspiration stems from the "raw beauty of the feminine mystique" and the "horrors of abject poverty", according to her earlier web postings. She is daughter of Rehana Hussain Malik, chief of the Muslim League. Her father, the late Dr M.A. Hussain Malik, was an internationally renowned Pakistani economist.

According to VOA-Urdu, the 39-year-old firebrand chief of Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) had met the Pakistani artist during his tour to Pakistan, who apart from being a painter is also involved with charitable works as well as non-government organisations. Earlier reports had said that the separatist leader had vowed in 1980s to practice celibacy for the sake of insurgency and liberation of Kashmir but the Karachi's beauty melted down his resolve.

Yasin Malik was to marry Mushal in October last year, but before that he was arrested and jailed for opposing the elections in the Valley. He then sent the engagement ring to her through a friend. According to earlier media reports, Malik is the third J&K leader to choose a life partner from outside the state. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is married to an American-born Kashmiri girl and People's Conference chief Sajjad Gani Lone is married to a Pakistani girl, daughter of Kashmiri leader Amanullah Khan. Both women were refused visas by the Indian government.
According to news reports from Islamabad, "Malik, chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) is now in Pakistan to solemnise his nikah.
"I am going on a 10-day personal visit to Pakistan. I will solemnize my nikah in an austere way according to Islamic tenets," Malik said ahead of his visit.
Malik's family plans to cross the border in a bus on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road to attend the marriage. However, the bride is expected to move to Jammu and Kashmir only when her family visits Srinagar in the summer.
