Four arrested in mysterious death case for abetment to suicide

SAMBA, Aug 19: Samba Police, led by SSP Samba Benam Tosh, has successfully arrested four individuals in connection with the abetment to suicide case of Bodh Raj from Rakh Amb Talli. The case, which initially revolved around a mysterious death, has been resolved with the registration of an FIR under sections 306/109 IPC at Police Station Samba.
The arrested individuals have been identified as follows:
Faqir Chand, son of Lalo Ram, resident of Rakh Amb Talli
Surjit Kumar, son of Faqir Chand, resident of Rakh Amb Talli
Ashok Kumar, son of Jagdish Raj, resident of Rakh Amb Talli
Jameet Roy, son of Late Sadhu Ram, resident of Meen Sarkar Barjani Bari Brahmana
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh, the case began on July 20, 2023, when a report was received from reliable sources at Police Post Rakh Amb Talli about the death of Bodh Raj, aged 52, who had been undergoing treatment at GMC as a poison case. He passed away at GMC Jammu, and his body was found in the mortuary room. An inquiry was initiated under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of death. Legal procedures, including post-mortem and sending viscera to the FSL, were carried out during the investigation. Meanwhile, the police received directions from the CJM Samba's court to register an FIR under section 156 (3) CrPC.
As a result, FIR No. 197/2023 under sections 306/109 IPC was registered at Police Station Samba. The four accused were subsequently arrested, and the case is currently being further investigated under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. This successful resolution highlights the dedication of Samba Police in upholding justice and ensuring that those responsible for abetment to suicide are held accountable.
