Police team recovers 4500 Psychotropic capsules, one accused arrested

JAMMU, Aug 19: In a determined effort to combat the growing menace of drug trafficking and substance abuse, a vigilant police team from PP Narwal, led by SHO PS Bahu Fort Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and I/C PP Narwal SI Lalit Sharma, apprehended a suspect named Raj Kumar, son of Baldev Raj, residing in Upper Krishna Nagar, Jammu. The arrest took place during a patrolling duty near the Railway pulley in Narwal.
Upon searching the suspect’s belongings, the police team uncovered a total of 4500 SPAM PAIN+ psychotropic capsules.
Following this incident, a case with FIR No. 243/23 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Bahu Fort, and the accused was taken into custody.
An intensive questioning process is currently underway to ascertain any potential accomplices involved in this criminal activity. The entire arrest and recovery operation was carried out under the watchful supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari.
The investigation into the case continues, as Jammu Police remains steadfast in its commitment to curbing the drug menace. The police force is actively engaging in raising awareness among the public, particularly the youth, to eliminate the scourge of drugs.
