Jammu police’s efforts lead to recovery of 6 grams of heroin, one peddler arrested

JAMMU, Aug 19: Jammu Police has achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse by recovering 6 grams of heroin from an individual in the jurisdiction of PS Satwari, Jammu.
A police team from PS Satwari, led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and assisted by SHO PS Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma and SI Jaimal Singh, apprehended a suspected person during a naka duty. Upon conducting a search, 6 grams of heroin were discovered in his possession.
In connection with this incident, a case with FIR No. 171/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Satwari, and the accused, identified as Ajit Singh alias Rajan, son of Daya Singh and resident of Karan Bagh, was taken into custody. The recovered 6 grams of heroin were found on his person.
The investigation into the case is ongoing, as Jammu Police is determined to dismantle the chains of drug supply in the region. The thorough questioning of the accused is ongoing to trace the origins of the drug supply chain.
