JKTJAC urges swift release of cash to address salary, bill clearances

Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: The Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) convened an emergency meeting in Udhampur, led by UT President Vinod Sharma, and attended by executive members of the JKTJAC. The meeting discussed the pressing issue of the dwindling cash reserves in the treasuries of Jammu and Kashmir UT, which have remained empty for over 10 days.
Vinod Sharma, addressing the gathering, emphasized the immediate need for the release of cash in the UT's treasuries. This crisis has led to the piling up of salary and other bills for employees over an extended period. He noted that thousands of employees are facing hardships due to the non-clearance of their pending dues, adversely affecting their families who rely on these salaries for sustenance.
Sharma pointed out that many employees have resorted to loans to manage their financial needs, and the delay in salary release exacerbates their financial struggles. The non-release of salaries in a timely manner hampers their ability to meet essential commitments, leading to significant hardships.
The issue of pending GP Fund cases was also raised during the meeting. These cases have remained unresolved for more than six months, adding to the challenges faced by the employees. Vinod Sharma appealed to the Directorate General (DG) of Treasury to intervene and expedite the clearance of liabilities related to GP Fund cases and the immediate release of salaries and other pending bills for employees.
The JKTJAC meeting underscored the urgency of addressing the financial hardships faced by employees in the Jammu and Kashmir UT due to delayed salary releases and the accumulation of pending bills. It urged the relevant authorities to take swift action to alleviate the challenges faced by employees and ensure timely disbursement of their rightful dues.
