Conversion of Mubarak Mandi Complex into Multiple Commercial Hubs: Adv. Suresh Dogra's perspective
8/22/2023 10:24:29 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 22: In a significant development, Adv. Suresh Dogra, Senior Leader and Chairman of the OBC Department in the Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed his views on the conversion of the Mubarak Mandi complex into multiple commercial hubs, highlighting potential benefits for the welfare of Jammu.
Adv. Suresh Dogra and his team engaged in a meeting with Smt. Deepika Sharma, Director of Heritage, to gain insights into the ongoing development process of the historic Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex. The conversation between the Director and the Congress leader shed light on the comprehensive vision for the complex's transformation.
In a press statement, Adv. Suresh Dogra initially voiced concerns about the preservation of Dogra heritage, cautioning against converting the complex into a luxury hotel or a commercial hub. However, following a thorough discussion with the Director, it was concluded that this conversion could result in sustainable development and a positive step toward preserving Dogra Heritage.
The Director revealed the proposed plan to convert the Mubarak Mandi complex into various commercial segments, including a luxury hotel, a shopping zone, and a wedding banquet area. This approach aims to achieve a delicate balance between heritage preservation and generating finances for sustainable development. Importantly, the project is expected to create employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu, thereby contributing to the local economy.
The funds generated from the project will not only support the upkeep of the heritage site but also aid in the restoration of old temples that currently remain in a state of disrepair. Adv. Suresh Dogra was accompanied by other notable figures during the meeting, including Sh. Parshotam Mehra (Vice-Chairman OBC Dept JKPCC), Ajay Lagotra, and Ravi Mehra.
The potential transformation of the Mubarak Mandi complex into multiple commercial hubs signifies a forward-looking approach to heritage preservation, economic growth, and youth empowerment in the region. The Congress leader's perspective underscores the intricate balance between tradition and progress.
