| PDP flays erratic power in Valley | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 29- Peoples Democratic Party General Secretary and MLA Bandipora Nizamudin Bhat has expressed grave concern over the unsatisfactory power supply in Kashmir valley, particularly in remote areas of Bandipora, Kupwara and Pahalgam.
He said that while the money is available to the department for repairing transformers and augmentation of LT and HT, very little is happening on the ground to improve the supply position due to which people are suffering.
Bhat said that the general strike of employees is further compounding the miseries of common man. He demanded that immediate decision should be taken on 6th pay commission implementation in the state after discussion with employees and political parties.
Bhat said that government should expedite action on utilization of funds for ongoing schemes and in this regard Deputy Commissioners need to act upon the advice of elected representatives so that money is utilized for public purpose in a transparent manner and development works are completed as per target.
The PDP MLA also demanded that rationalization of ration cards on merit is a task which should be undertaken on priority, he said people in need , who deserve support under BPL schemes are generally ignored and made to suffer.
He expressed hope that border Districts like Bandipora and Kupwara do not get a raw deal and lot of the common man is improved by attending to basic problems faced in power sector, consumer affairs, public health and welfare.
Bhat who completed a week long tour of his constituency said that it was high time that the government improves road network, power and public health in the area.
