| MLA Kathua flags off tour of farmers, orchardists | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, JAN 30: Member Legislative Assembly, Kathua, Mr. Charanjeet Singh Jasrotia flagged off fruit growers/orchardists study tour to different research and other Horticulture institutions within the state of Jammu and Kashmir under horticulture Technology Mission MM-II from District Horticulture Complex, Kathua, today.
28 farmers and orchardists from different Kathua, Barnoti, Hiranagar, Billawar/ Basohli Lohai- Malhar and Bani blocks of Kathua district are part of the week long tour.
The fruit growers orchardists shall visit different research institutions and field areas of the state under the supervision of Mr. K.K. Bakshi district level subject matter specialist( Pomology) and Mr. kishori Lal Sr. Horticulture tech where in they will be imparted technical know how and knowledge regarding advanced scientific technologies developed for quality fruit cultivation and production.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Singh stressed on the touring farmers and orchardists to acquire the know how of scientific technologies more effectively for its adaptation in their respective areas on their return from tour for boosting of quality fruit production.
Earlier Mr. Singh also inspected the construction work of District Fruit Preservation Centre coming up at horticulture Complex with the project cost of Rs. 18.12 lakhs.
Chief Horticulture Officer, Kathua, Mr. J.L. Raina, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua, Mr. S. R. Galotra, District Horticulture Officer, District Level Subject matter specialist and horticulture staff was present on the occasion.
